One year for Christmas, Santa gave me a Black Angus gift card. I've had that card for three-four years, but being a starving college student (jk, I'm not starving), I finally found a reason to use it.
When my friend and I went, I got a fancy steak topped with blue cheese and mushrooms. It was sooo good and my friend, who loves cheese, especially blue cheese, suggested we make this for dinner one day. Our homemade version was super delicious and not nearly as expensive as Black Angus (:
Ingredients:
- flank steak
- mushrooms
- onions
- blue cheese ...is it spelled bleu cheese?
This yummy dinner was super easy to assemble, especially because I had already made the steak ahead of time. First I caramelized the onions and sauteed the mushrooms. Then I microwaved the meat on 70% or 80% power, a trick my mom taught me so that the meat wouldn't be overcooked and chewy. Then I took a baking sheet lined with foil, put the meat on and topped it with the onions and mushrooms, sprinkled some blue cheese on top, and popped it under the broiler for a few minutes. We ate it with salad with...blue cheese dressing, of course (:
